our story

We found this place the same way most good things happen—quietly, a little off the main path, and full of potential.

Tucked into a central corner of Loudonville, The Hemlock Inn is a 20-room motel built for simplicity: clean, comfortable, and close to everything that matters. It’s not overdone. It’s not trying too hard. It just works—exactly how you need it to.

We’ve always believed the best trips aren’t about where you stay—they’re about what you do while you’re there. But where you land at the end of the day should still feel right.

For Those who take the road less travelled… and are Shaped by it.

This place is intentionally small. One story. Easy in, easy out. Park at your door. Or step inside and take the interior hall when you want a slower start to the morning. No friction, no fuss.

Each room is designed to be a reset—comfortable beds, thoughtful details, and just enough of a rustic edge to remind you where you are.

Outside, it’s all about unwinding. Fire pits for late nights. Open air spaces to sit, talk, or just be still for a minute. Nothing forced—just room to breathe.

You’re minutes from the Mohican River and the trails of Mohican State Park—the kind of places that don’t need much explanation. Paddle, hike, explore, or don’t. It’s all right there when you’re ready.

And when you want a little more, town is just down the road—local spots, good food, and that slower pace you don’t realize you’ve been missing.

We’re in the middle of reworking the Hemlock Inn—updating rooms, refining the experience, and building it into something more intentional. The goal isn’t just a place to stay.

It’s a basecamp.

A place you come back to after a long day outside.
A place that feels easy.
A place that quietly earns its spot in your routine.
